2013
Al Jazeera Teleport Project
This project, which was a main constituent of Al Jazeera Media Network (AJMN) Workplace Transformation Programme. In Doha, Qatar RFCT prepared Proposals and Tender response documentation in collaboration with international system integration specialists to completely replace the existing Teleport System including MCR, Teleport NOC and the migration of the migration of the existing satellite farm to a new building structure rooftop.
2013
RTÉ One studio Upgrade
RFCT engaged with RTÉ personnel on behalf of BFE, the German based systems integrator, to provide relevant technical information to enable BFE to submit a complete response to an RTÉ tender for the upgrade to their flagship, RTÉ One studio transmission service, to a High Definition (HD) service.
2014/15
Today FM Transmitter Replacement
In 2014, RFCT provided engineering support to Communicorp Group for the deployment and installation of FM Radio transmitters for the Today FM radio service on various sites in Ireland. The transmitter installation included connection to the 2rn high power radio transmission infrastructure system.
2016
Engineering Support Maghera
A project which required the migration of existing transmission equipment and completing the integration with new equipment in a new building at the 2rn site in Maghera in county Clare. RFCT provided engineering support and assisted in the installation of the UHF television systems and the implementation of the migration plan.
2017
I&C of DTT re-transmitter Systems
RFCT provided engineering support for the Installation and commissioning of ‘2+1’ dual-drive, air cooled DTT re-transmitter Systems and 2-Channel Constant Impedance Broadband (CIB) Combiners systems with all necessary ancillary infrastructures, including control and input interfaces at a number of 2RN sites in Ireland.
2018
Uplink Network GmBH in Germany
As part of the deregulation of the market for VHF transmitter network operations in Germany, Uplink GmBH won a major contract to provide FM transmission services across Germany. RFCT provided assistance to aid in the initial roll-out of the FM services and since then UPLINK Network GmbH has established itself as the market leader in recent years with the operation of 750 VHF frequencies today, most of which have their own frequency allocation.
2018
2RN DTT Combiner Re-tunning
IHT together with Spinner GmBH were commissioned to detail precise measurements on existing UHF 4-channel combiner systems in the 2RN DTT network and perform all necessary re-tuning, repairs and provide necessary parts to re-engineer the DTT combiner systems to comply with the ComReg (Ireland) radio spectrum management strategy for the implementation of the new “digital dividend” in the 700MHz frequency band. As part of the team RFCT provided technical expertise and local knowledge to help expedite the project to a satisfactory conclusion.
2019
Outside Broadcast Unit for Racing Integrity
RFCT provided technical consultancy to assist in the design, evaluation and award process in relation to the public procurement Tender for Outside Broadcast (terrestrial & satellite), Integrity Cameras and Close Circuit facilities across all Irish Racecourses. RFCT was heavily involved in the development of the technical specification for Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) for the provision of the outside broadcast requirements, close circuit and public address systems requirements.
2019
Engineering Support for Mt. Leinster Migration
A project which required the migration of existing transmission equipment and completing the integration with new equipment in a new building at the 2RN site in Mt. Leinster which is located on the borders of counties Wexford and Carlow in Ireland. RFCT provided engineering support and played a key role in the implementation of the migration plan including the co-phasing of re-routed transmission antenna feeders and the dismantling, installing and commissioning of new and existing equipment.
2020
Large Mobile Screens and Voice Alarm Systems
RFCT provided some technical consultancy to Inhouse Technologies (IHT) to assist in the design specification for a new Pubic Address and Voice Alarm system (PAVA) to be operated at the Leopardstown Horse Racing stadium in Dublin, Ireland and the provision of mobile large screen monitors for Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) to be deployed on racecourses during race meetings to enhance the viewing experience of the public. The screens will be designed to show video signals provided by the Outside Broadcast Truck along with any other video / picture content.
2020/22
Integrity Security System (ISS) for IHRB Migration
RFCT provided technical consultancy to assist in the design, evaluation and award process in relation to the public procurement Tender for the provision of an Integrity Security System (ISS) including CCTV installation and maintenance services in Irish racecourse stable yards on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB). The objective of the new complete HD Integrity Security System is to augment existing integrity services available at racecourses on racedays. The new HD Integrity Security System, which will run automatically on a 24/7 basis with all camera outputs securely recorded and delivered to a dedicated storage system, is designed to provide enhanced security to both deter and detect breaches of the Rules of Racing and also to deter and detect burglary, break-ins, invasions and for evidence of suspicious activities or thefts of property from the stable yard area.
